Whether you're one of the lucky ones going on a vacation getaway, or you're stuck at home dreaming of the next time you get to travel and flaunt what you're wearing- Summer is a season filled with trends, vibrant clothing, and unlimited styling possibilities. Here are some basic wardrobe essentials to get you through the heat in the most fashionable way possible.
1) White T-shirt: This is a classic. You could also invest in a loose white button-up shirt to pair with dresses or shorts and jeans to channel effortlessness and comfort. We're personally big fans of colourful button-up shirts and T-shirts- they can easily make any outfit look put-together and chic.
2) Denim: Denim shorts, jeans, skirts- the list is endless. Versatile and easy to style, Denim will always be a must-have.
3) Crop tops: When paired with a high waisted flowy skirt, crop tops look nothing short of uber-cute. We're picturing a pleated tennis skirt, a spaghetti-strapped top, and your favourite sneakers for a Pinterest inspired aesthetic.
4) A shrug: a loose, flowy shrug you can wear over dresses can be the little something you can use to spice up a boring outfit. When paired with the right accessories, you can channel any and every aesthetic: from boho, to sporty. Men can channel the same effect by pairing a loose Hawaiian shirt over a basic t-shirt, a classic vacation look.
5) Flowy dresses: Loose dresses in solid, floral or patterned designs- or polo shirt dresses that are slightly flared at the end, square neck dresses in gorgeous colours: we LOVE to see them all. Whether you're channelling rich nepotism baby at the tennis club, or a vacation in the Bahamas: dresses are the EASIEST way to show that you've made an effort dressing up without actually making any.
6) Skater Skirts: A-line, classic and the perfect length to beat the heat, skater skirts can be paired with anything and everything to create an adorable ensemble.
7) Flared pants: Loose palazzos in neutral or vibrant colours can make a beautiful addition to your overall wardrobe. They are breezy, comfortable, and make your outfit look more balanced in terms of the silhouette.
8) A white Kurta- Picture a white chikankari kurta with jeans, silver jhumkas, and the wide variety of other outfits you can build with the same. Breezy, comfortable and sanskaari: an absolute win-win!
These are just a few examples of basic pieces that can be styled with everything from your wardrobe and are a good place to start experimenting with your style. Please check out our article on accessorising for summer to make your outfits level up in every way possible!
